Holy Kailash Humla Trek

18-Day Holy Kailash to Humla Trek
Journey to holy Kailash & the isolated Humla in Nepal.

Key Information:
Tour Duration: 18 day(s)
Group Size: 4 - 16 people
Destination(s): China Nepal Tibet

OVERVIEW:
This extraordinary journey takes you to Tibet’s mythical Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar and then through the hidden Humla valley in Nepal’s westernmost Tibetan frontier. Starting from Kathmandu we travel overland west along the powerful Zangpo River and over secluded high passes to reach Mt. Kailash. Hindus, Buddhist, Jains and Bonpos, who believe it to be the centre of the universe, revere this majestic mountain. Once there we will make the ‘kora’ (holy-circuit) trek of the mountain, sharing the trail with many other pilgrims that head for Kailash during summer.
Afterwards we will camp by the banks of lake Manasar
ovar and then head south to cross the Tibet-Nepal
border into Humla. Once over the Nara Lagna pass
we get ‘over the hump’ and south of the main Hima
layan range to trek down to the Karnali River, through
alpine meadows, ancient villages and forested valleys culminating in a flight from Simikot to Nepalgunj in the Nepal’s Terai lowland. This exclusive journey is made for travellers in search of a cultural and spiritual odyssey amidst mountain splendour.

And though this trip involves rigorous overland driving, trekking and camping, through the remote and wild western Tibet and Nepal, you need not be worried about comfort and safety. You will be reaching altitudes between 2,745m / 9,000ft and 4,880m / 16,000ft and hiking to a maximum of 5548m / 18,200ft. It is a fully sustained trip with all necessary camping equipment and meals, led by a qualified guide. We will be using Japanese 4-WD SUVs backed by a truck carrying supplies and equipment. During trekking, all equipment and luggage will be carried by porters. You would carry daypack only and would be allowed to walk at an easy pace.

BEST SEASON: May to October.
